How planning works
From the tour to the last dance.
- Take a walkthrough. Come see the room in person, bring your questions, and picture your layout.
- Pick your track and level. Ceremony, reception, or both. Then Essentials, Guided or Supported, priced by your guest count.
- Hold your date. A 25% deposit holds your date, due within one week. Pay in full and save 10%.
- Sit down about food and drinks. There is no kitchen here, so catering and the bar are custom quoted at a sit down with you, through our partners.
- Plan the day. Guided and Supported include a full planning run for your layout, timeline and flow. Supported adds a day of coordinator and your private event portal.
- Celebrate. We set the room before you arrive, run what your level includes, and clean up at the end of the night.

How many guests fit?
Up to 165 guests. With a dance floor, about 150 seated.
Is catering or a bar included?
No. Food, beverage and alcohol are not included. Catering and the bar are custom quoted at a sit down with you, through our partners.
Can we do the ceremony and the reception in the same room?
Yes. That is Ceremony + Reception. After your vows we flip the room for the reception while your guests mingle in the lounge.
Who does the decorating?
With Essentials, the room is dressed and set and you bring any extra decor. Guided and Supported include staff decorating setup and teardown, with decor setup the evening before.
How do we hold our date?
A 25% deposit holds your date, due within one week. Pay in full and save 10%.
Is tax included?
Prices do not include 6% Michigan sales tax. Every cost is confirmed in writing before you reserve.

My name is Childress Cannon. I'm a Saginaw native, and I took the long way home.
I graduated from The University of Queensland in Australia with degrees in Chinese and Economics. I ran track, then spent years in tech and sales, living in bigger cities out east and down south. And the whole time, the story I actually wanted to be part of was back here.
Here is the part most businesses would cut from the script: my first idea was wrong. I came home to open a coworking space, because I had worked remotely and seen them everywhere in the big cities. But Saginaw kept telling me a different story. People did not need another place to work. They needed a place to gather. Renters kept asking to host their events in the space, because there are not many mid market venues around here, and everything in the room was customizable. So I listened, and I let the community rewrite the plan.
Because here is what most hosts around here are stuck choosing between: a generic hall that hands you beige walls and a rules sheet, or spending big on a venue where your celebration turns into somebody else's show. That is the thing Chil_Space exists to fight. Your graduation, your shower, your reunion, your launch, they deserve real production.
Chil_Space opened in the fall of 2025, and in February of 2026 we moved into Fashion Square Mall. People ask, why a mall? Because I had seen venues inside malls in other parts of the country and always thought it was cool, and because I like what it says. You walk a corridor you have walked your whole life, and there is something new and alive at the end of it.
Today we host ceremonies and receptions, birthdays, graduations, nonprofit groups, business meetings, and seminars. And the moment I care about most is the first ten seconds: a host walks in, sees the room set their way, and realizes the night is theirs. Nobody remembers every detail of an event. They remember how it felt to be the one who pulled it off.
And yes, the Chil in Chil_Space comes from Childress. It is a space with my name on it, written for everyone.
